The Department of Electrophysiology offers state-of-the-art, highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Patients with tachycardia cardiac arrhythmia, including a majority with atrial fibrillation, can be examined and treated in the Department of Electrophysiology.
Since the establishment in 2015 of a Department of Electrophysiology within the Clinic of Cardiology, we offer state-of-the-art, highly complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the special catheter laboratories are among the most innovative facilities of their kind in northern Germany.
We pay particular attention to patient safety during these complex procedures. This includes having an experienced medical team, well-trained nurses, and state-of-the-art technology. Already during the electrophysiological consultation prior to admission, potential problem areas are discussed with the patient and reduced as far as possible, and the most suitable therapy for the individual is selected. Around 650 ablative procedures are performed annually.
Cardiac arrhythmia (arrhythmia/tachycardia (heart palpitations), AV node tachycardia, WPW syndrome, atrial fluttering/atrial fibrillation, rare rhythm disturbances, fainting spells of unknown origin
